Summary
YouTube Transcript Downloader & Search is a Chrome extension that lets you view, search, copy, and export the caption text of YouTube videos. The extension runs entirely in your browser. We do not operate a server. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
What the extension accesses

What the extension does NOT do
- No account or sign-in is required.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or tracking pixels.
- No advertising; no ad networks.
- No third-party SDKs.
- No remote code execution. All JavaScript is bundled at build time from local sources.
- No transmission of transcript text, video titles, watch history, or any other content to us or to third parties.
- No AI or external API calls in this version.

Children
The extension is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
Third-party services
The extension communicates only with YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/*) and only to read caption data on the page you are already viewing.

Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the extension handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store changelog.
